AMVETS Post 104 Meeting

Meeting Notes October 2025
Pledge of Allegiance
Invocation and Prayers
Amvets members Sam H and Frank A are in good spirits and recovering nicely
from their recent surgeries.
Approval of Last Meeting Notes
Steven S made a motion to approve. This motion seconded by Bobby R. Motion
approved by voice vote by members in attendance without correction.
Approval of Last Finance Report (as of end of Sep 2025)
Bessie W made a motion to approve finance report as presented. This motion
seconded by Richard S and motion approved by voice vote by members in attendance.
October fundraiser info will be presented at next meeting.
Old Business
Veteran’s breakfast every Friday morning from 8-10 am at San Marcos VFW on Hunter Road.
See Stephanie B for further info.
Vet’s Patrol meets every 4 th Monday of the month at 1 st Baptist Church at Hunter Road and
McCarty Lane in San Marcos. See David F for further info.
Rick made a motion to discuss the possibility of the post to buy supplies for future fundraisers
vs. Amvets member to buy supplies. Motion seconded by Stephanie but was then rescinded
and motion closed.
Former post commander Mark Salinas and former secretary Sam Hernandez have been
removed from Amvets bank accounts and no longer have signature authority on these
accounts.
New Business
Veteran’s Day parade will be held on 8 th Nov 2025 at 10am. Staging will be at SM city hall
at 9am.
David F mentioned that $$$ in pay pal sales was made from the Oct pork steak fundraiser.
Mark made a motion that $125 be allowed as per diem pay per delegate to the state Amvets
meeting in Tyler TX on Oct 10 th . This motion seconded by Steve. Motion approved by voice
vote by members in attendance.
Nov 2025 meeting moved to Wednesday 5 Nov 2025 because Tuesday 4 Nov 2025 (our
normally scheduled meeting) is Election Day.
Round Table
Stephanie B requested a review of the 10% amount of fundraiser money to be deposited
in to Amvets savings and when this was approved.
Mark S mentioned that Amvets men assist A-Team ladies with canopy set up in front of
VFW to assist drive through sales.
Diana V mentioned that IDK bar will open early for veterans after the parade. IDK will
host a veteran’s luncheon.ance
Bobby R suggested that Amvets post 104 should construct its own bylaws in accordance with
national Amvets.
David F mentioned that Hays County has classes for a crisis response team ( CRASE program).
Motion made by Stephanie B to adjourn the meeting. Motion seconded by Bessie W. Motion
approved by voice vote and meeting adjourned at 6pm.
